Alberto Murillo

Alberto has been painting all his life. Since he was a small child, transforming thoughts into art has come very naturally to him. Elementary school teachers recognized his talent at a very early age in his native Madrid, Spain. He went with his gut and has been painting ever since.

Whether it's a landscape, a tree, or a human being, he likes things in the abstract. You may even see the Spanish Plains with its colorful horizons in his depiction of the Low Country in South Carolina. His perceptions of people are alive and full of emotion. You feel what they feel. His photorealistic portrayal of a simple orchid is nothing short of perfection.

Although he is often known for somewhat obliquely changing his subject matter, he always finds his way back to the human form, believing the body and the personality to be the most elusive, challenging and vital form of artistic expression. His favorite medium is a combination of acrylic, chalk, and resin.

You can find his work either on canvas or wooden boxes. He has exhibited in several galleries across Europe and the United States. He is currently being represented aong with some of Atlanta's finest artists at The Krause Gallery.
