Ridley Stallings
After co-founding a women's clothing boutique in 1998, Ridley Stallings began featuring regional folk art in in the store. Her heart and her customers then led her to pursue her own art. Six years ago, inspired by her father's love of patriotic and nautical flags, she began creating her pieces from materials salvaged from old southern homes, such as tongue and groove flooring, crown molding, "earthquake" stars and other architectural elements, each with their own story and patina.
Today, with her creations featured in a number of galleries across the south, her audience continues to grow with her art. Ridley's art evolves as she is constantly influenced by the materials she finds and the people around her. |
